Saddle Mountain
The mountain the park takes its name from. Hiking trails and rock hunting in the open desert around it, right on the doorstep.
El Dorado Hot Springs
Natural hot springs right here in Tonopah, with private soaking pools fed by water that comes out of the ground at around 107 degrees. Several of the pools look straight out at Saddle Mountain.

A BLM wilderness area roughly 20 miles west along I-10, with desert peaks, petroglyph sites and some of the darkest skies in the region.
White Tank Mountain Regional Park
The big Maricopa County park east of here, with more than 30 miles of trails, a nature center and the popular Waterfall Trail.

Verrado
A little further east, with more restaurants and shopping, plus golf and a walkable main street.

Open Desert, West of the City
Saddle Mountain sits on wide, flat Sonoran desert out past Buckeye, far enough from Phoenix for real quiet and dark skies, close enough that town is an easy run.
The mountain itself draws hikers and rockhounds, and the desert around the park is open country to explore. Buckeye and Verrado cover shopping and dining, and the whole area has the mild winters that bring people to this part of Arizona in the first place.
